Our Story
The inspiration for calmettos was born of a love of the outdoors; days in the field and woods with the Boykin. Fishing the Carolina Coast and those beautiful Palmetto trees that have withstood hurricane force winds and English cannonballs. The Palmetto represents strength with its tightly woven fibers while at the same time serving as an icon that reflects a casual ‘sweet-tea’ lifestyle. These are benchmarks of the Carolina coastal plain and the calmettos. It’s all about heritage and deep roots – it’s akin to Calhoun Harrelson, our founder and calmettos artist.
Our tee shirts carry a unique, original calmettos personally created by Calhoun to bring visual life to the calmettos. These high-end, finely crafted southern cotton calmettos tees remind the wearer of what makes
life fun, comfortable and refreshing – even with a sprinkling of pride. Brand new to the calmettos line are the calmettos variety pack note cards. Six are beautifully illustrated calmettos in rich colors perfectly suited as a classy gift. For you Clemson and Gamecock fans, you will see cards just for you. Other college color calmettos cards will follow.

Hand-painted calmettos suitable for framing or simply displaying in a den, study or office are available at several of our retail locations and soon on this site.
